The 2017 BMW 5 Series lineup headed by the new plug-in hybrid BMW 530e iPerformance, the fastest BMW M550i xDrive, the BMW 6 Series and BMW X2 is getting ready for the 2017 Detroit Auto Show. The American event will open its doors from Jan. 8 to 22, where manufacturers will present their latest creations. And BMW is looking to be one of the top performers.

The 2017 BMW 5 Series, according to BMW, will be more dynamic, have higher levels of assistance, a high degree of network integration and a new control system. It is expected to be BMW's most important car in 2017, according to BMWBlog, and BMW will take advantage of the Detroit Auto Show to show it to the world.

BMW will also present live for the first time the new hybrid version of the 2017 BMW 5 Series, the new BMW 530e IPerformance. This new version plug-in hybrid will be available on March 2017 and will complement the range of the 2017 BMW 5 Series, which in its submission had only four mechanical options, two diesel and two petrol.

At the moment, the German brand has not revealed the technical specifications of this new 2017 BMW 5 Series plug-in hybrid, but we know that it will have a gasoline engine BMW TwinPower turbo, which will be supported by electrical mechanics. However, the company itself has revealed consumption figures and emissions, 1.9 liters per 100 km on average consumption with a CO2 emissions of 44 grams per kilometer.

The BMW 530e IPerformance has the same equipment and optional systems as the rest of the range of the 2017 BMW 5 Series. But it will not be alone in Detroit as one will also find there the newly confirmed M550i xDrive, the most powerful variant of the 2017 BMW 5 Series. With an engine V8 462 hp and 650 Nm, it is said to signal a new age of cutthroat competition in the luxury sedan department, according to Forbes.

BMW will also present the most luxurious 2017 BMW 6 Series which will hit the market in the spring of 2017 with a wide range of developments. It will feature new aesthetics and equipment as well as new colors in its catalog. These new features will be available for all three variants of the 6 Series, the 6 Series Coupé, Cabrio and the Gran Coupé sports sedan.

Not to be forgotten is the BMW X2 concept, a compact arriving for the first time to the U.S. We will have to wait and see all BMW has to offer at Detroit.
