2017 Zero Electric Motorcycle To Get More Power, Range & Better Options!

Still spearheading the performance electric motorcycle segment, Zero Motorcycles has intensified its entire lineup with more power, torque and IPM motors.

Packing a few more surprises for next year, Zero Motorcycles unveiled the entire range of 2017 Zero electric motorcycles at EICMA Milan earlier this year. The California-based manufacturer of electric motorcycles has been on a roll. Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, Zero Motorcycles continues to become the biggest manufacturer of performance electrics in the current market.

The 2017 Zero electric motorcycle range now boasts 14 configurations, bearing a price tag range of $8,495 to $18,690. Moreover, Zero has a few aces up its sleeves this year in order to further augment their bikes' appeal to zealous riders, according to Green Car Reports.

2017 Zero Electric Motorcycle Range: 2017 Zero SR

The 2017 Zero electric motorcycle range warrants high performance. For instance, the 2017 Zero SR, which is deemed as the most powerful bike, now packs a staggering 116 ft-lbs of torque.

Selling for US$15,995, the 2017 Zero SR weighs in at 414 lb (188 kg) and goes 261 km (or 161 city mile) with 70 hp (157 Nm and 52 kW). It features an alternative Power Tank that pushes range up to 325 km or 202 city miles, according to New Atlas.

2017 Zero Electric Motorcycle Range: The 2017 Zero DSR

Up for grabs for US$15,995, the 2017 Zero DSR weighs 419 lb i.e. 190 kg and goes 237 km, which converts to 147 city miles with maximum torque of 116 lb.ft and 70 hp (157 Nm and 52 kW). The 2017 Zero DSR also comes with a Power Tank that boosts range to an impressive 296 km (or 184 city miles).

2017 Zero Electric Motorcycle Range: 2017 Zero FX and FXS

Both 2017 Zero FX and FXS gets the IPM motor coupled with a staggering 70 to 78 lb.ft of torque and from 44 - 46 horsepower on the ZX6.5 model --- by virtue of the higher amperage motor controllers.
