Only a fifth of the audience the first weekend were less than 18 years, while more than half were over 35, according to monitoring firm Box Office Mojo industry and reported by DailyBeast.

This highlighted that those previous Harry Potter fans - all grown ups now - had not stopped supporting the franchise as "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" is the first film spinoff that came out of the Harry potter Saga and was made by JK Rowling and David Yates together.

The film dethroned Marvel's "Doctor Strange", which fell to second place in its third week in theaters. This week totaled $17.8 million, accumulating a total of $181.6 million. The film, starring Benedict Cumberbatch, tells the story of neurosurgeon Stephen Strange, whose life takes a turn because of a horrible car accident that prevents him from using his hands but allows him to discover new power.

Johnny Deep In Shocking Ending

At the end of the film it was revealed that Percival Graves (Colin Farrell) was actually the guise of Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp), who is presented as a dangerous and evil sorcerer. A shocking scene that will be one of the main plot of the upcoming "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" films.

Also, the tape ended with the supposed death of Credence Baredone (Ezra Miller), but one of the producers of Fantastic Beasts clarified that Credence may still be alive and they have deleted a scene where Credence is shown boarding a boat to another place because they wanted to leave the audience the question whether Credence is alive or not.

According to reports, future "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" will include Dumbledore, Credence and Grindelwald as the main characters. The future looks magical.
