While Rockstar Games continue to remain tight-lipped about "Red Dead Redemption 2", the studio's parent company, Take-Two, is not shying away from spilling the beans about "RDR 2" coming to PS4 and Xbox One. However, there's no word yet whether the game will be launched on PC or Nintendo Switch.

Touted as a direct sequel to 2010's hit western action-adventure, "Red Dead Redemption", which took the video gaming realm by storm, the "Red Dead Redemption 2" release date is just around the corner according to strong rumors making rounds.

Multiple sources claim that the long-awaited game title will hit the store shelves next year, exactly seven years after the launch of "Red Dead Redemption". In fact, a mounting evidence shows that the game has been in active development for about three years.

A Redditor known as trevors685 posted an image of an acclaimed gaming industry sound designer, Joe Cavers, who has uploaded his portfolio on the internet and has allegedly been working on "Red Dead Redemption 2" since 2014 or even earlier.

It's no secret that Rockstar prefers to keep details of its upcoming games under wraps, so it was hardly surprising when the game developer did not shed more light on "Red Dead Redemption 2" release date and other details for quite a long time.

Rockstar's silence stirred conversations among zealous "RDR" fans regarding the next installment release of the "Red Dead" franchise.

Interestingly, Rockstar followed the same pattern with "GTA 4" and "GTA 5" by refraining from providing details about the games at its E3 event despite speculations. The studio's reps, however, teased zealous gamers with tip-offs about the fan-favorite franchise, according to NashvilleChatterclass.

There is no word on whether or not the sequel will be a Western-based, open-world, action-adventure like its precursor. Some sources even claim that the "RDR" sequel will come bearing a different moniker, rumored to be "Legends of the West."

The official "Red Dead Redemption 2" release date is confirmed for Fall of 2017 for consoles. There's hearsay that "RDR 2" PC version release date will be sometime around 2018.
