Volkswagen recently debuts the 2017 Volkswagen Golf a restyling of the previous generation that has been serving since 2012. The new Golf and Golf GTI features a more modern design and with many new features that are set to impress. Check out the specs, price, release date and everything to know about the update here.

Exterior Changes

Volkswagen recently debuted the most important update made in the Golf since it launched to the market the seventh generation MK7 in 2012. So what new aesthetic is present on the new Golf? There aren't radical changes to the design but several details help convey a more modern, fresh and dynamic look.

At the front of the new 2017 Volkswagen Golf, the new LED headlights will get one's attention. The lighting technology used for lighting during the daytime running lamps as well as for the group of rear lights, which also use newLED while lighting. The redesign tailpipes should also be noted as well as the availability of new body colors and new wheel designs.

Interior Changes

2017 Volkswagen Golf Engine Range

Volkswagen ntroduces various novelties in the mechanical section. The main one is the arrival of new engine Evo 1.5 TSI four-cylinder engine with active cylinder management (ACT) which gives a power of 150 hp and 250 Nm of torque, according to Top Gear.

This engine will add the new BlueMotion version which will have a power of 131 hp and 200 Nm. It includes a driving function "sailing" (coasting) with engine off. That is, the TSI engine is completely switched off when the driver takes his foot off the accelerator. A function that has very practical to drive on roads with steep slopes where no need press the accelerator.

2017 Volkswagen Golf GTI Updates

The Volkswagen Golf GTI also gets a little push, it will bring to 230 hp. While the Volksawgen Golf GTI Performance and will reach 245 hp. The new Volkswagen Golf GTE and Volkswagen e-Golf will put the icing, efficient, to the Golf range, offering 50 km of autonomy (according to test cycle) and 300 kilometers in electric mode, respectively.
