The Ferrari 488 Speciale Aperta, a lightweight variant developed and enhanced based on the spectacular Ferrari 488 Spider, had been announced by Ferrari to be at work just a few months ago. However, no other official information has been revealed regarding the 458 Speciale Aperta's successor. Luckily spy photographers are here to give us a glimpse at the new 488 Speciale Aperta and are spotted for the first time testing at the hills outside Modena, Italy.

The testing car is still partially covered with camouflage but one can see that whatever Ferrari has stored for us will be epic according to Carscoops and can possibly have a hybrid powertrain in it.

However, before this spotted Ferrari 488 Speciale Aperta drop-top variant reaches the market it should debut its equivalent coupe body first. In any case, for now, nothing is certain, so we can not rule anything about the two 488 Speciale Aperta.

The Ferrari 488 GTB in both coupe and convertible variant has a block V8 Biturbo 3.9L yielding 670 hp and allows you to reach 100 km/h in less than 3 seconds, hitting 200 km/h in 8.7 seconds before reaching a top speed of 330 km/h, at least theoretically.

Ferrari 488 Speciale Aperta Reimagined

Fans of Ferrari who had been anticipating this 488 Speciale Aperta can go to X-Tomi Design as they rendered a reimagining of the super roadster.

This Ferrari 488 Speciale convertible, if you follow this trend in previous Speciale variants (previously called Scuderia and F430 Challenge Stradale and 360 in Modena, respectively) have a sportier design; major weight reduction based on the deletion or replacement of components of the carrier, either soil upholstery, sound system or door panels; and a twist to the mechanics to provide a little more power. So it is expected that the Ferrari 488 GTB and Spider continue this trend and present version in a few months.
