SEMA 2016 News: BMW M Performance Parts Unveils At Event

SEMA 2016 was deemed to be a unique installment to the franchise for the event had been known to cater to American muscle cars for years. However, for this year, SUVs have joined the show, particularly that of BMW M Performance parts to be showcased at the end of this year.

BMW M performance parts would be featured at the upcoming SEMA 2016 event in Las Vegas later this year. Before formalities, the company revealed several specs and add-ons to their M series vehicles along with what the significant modifications to the models' powertrain.

The Specs

The BMW M performance parts were said to include high-tech allow wheels, engine management software that improved the vehicles' powertrain capabilities, and carbon fiber wings that likewise improved the weight of these models, according to Auto Blog.

In fact, most of the add-ons to the automobiles were derived from motorsports technology that each powertrain significantly improved. With its wheel crushed from forged blank, the vehicles were said to have the sturdiest and lightest design engineers could create for the M2, M3, and M4 models. These wheels were in Matte Black and were said to be incorporated with Michelin Pilot Sports Cup 2 tires.

Engine Specifications and Performance

On top of the added and improved specs, the vehicles would also have an adjustable suspension system for both the M3 and the M4 which would enable the driver to ride lower than 5mm to 20mm. For the 340i and 440i convertibles, they would be installed with an M Power & Sound Kit which has already been featured in Germany.

Powered by 3.0L turbocharged inline V6 engines, the vehicle would be able to increase the output by 35hp and 39pd-ft of torque for the automatic transmission models while 25lb-ft of torque would be for the manual transmission models. All in all, it would be revealed during the SEMA 2016 that these cars would be able to generate up to 355hp and 369lb-ft all in all, according to Digital Trends.

In the upcoming annual SEMA 2016 event, the accessories and packages of the BMW M Performance parts would be unveiled which would be showcased through the M2, M3, and M4 models.
