During a meeting of a car magazine named AutoCar in Zurich, an outsider was given the chance to experience a car prototype that runs on Nano Flowcell. The experience was overwhelming and a once in a lifetime opportunity.

The car was described as "beautifully built real and drivable." The tank is filled with lithium-ion battery packs that react to the flow cell in order to produce electricity that boosts the electric motors of the car.

Nano Flowcell is said to supply a merged horsepower of 1,075. The Quantino, which was driven by an outsider from Autocar quirks a single electric motor that powers the rear wheels and 48-volt electrical system.

It can run on 106 horsepower and 158 lb-ft of torque just sufficient for a zero to 62 mph in under five seconds with a top speed of 124 mph. The car provides a 159-liter (42-gallon) tanks that can reach a range of over 600 miles, although the plan for the model will have a smaller tank, 85 liters (22.4 gallons).

What is Nano Flowcell?

Nanotechnology is the latest device innovative technology that will be able to sustain power to any vehicles or transportation. A flow battery, also known as the redox flow battery (after reduction-oxidation), is a category of a battery that has a rechargeable ability, given by two chemical elements dispersed in liquids that hold inside the system and partitioned by a membrane.

The Ion is converted (supplying the flow of electric current). This happens when the liquids pass through the membrane circulates in their own individual territory. The voltage of the cell is governing by the Nernst equation and ranges in practical applications from 1.0 to 2.2 volts.' In other words, the whole aspect of this device is determined by the electrochemical engineering.

The fuel cell and the electrochemical accumulator cell (electrochemical reversibility) are similar to that of the flow battery.

Types of Flow Battery

There are certain types of the flow battery. The Redox or the reduction-oxidation cell can be reversed in where the electrochemical components are dispersed in the electrolyte. The Redox Flow are rechargeable batteries mainly because it has a heterogeneous electron transfer.

Hybrid, a kind of flow battery that uses electroactive components that are stored as a solid layer.

Membraneless, an occurrence that involves a laminar flow.

Organic another type of flow battery that is more traditional or older version that has been developed decades ago. It has been categorized in two. The first is Aqueous Organic redox Flow Battery, which uses water as a solvent for electrolytes. And the second one is the Non-Aqueous Organic Redox Flow Battery, which uses organic solvents to disperse redox materials.

Where can it be used?

There are some who already acknowledge the use of flow batteries, in fact, some home is using it as a storage medium. Some of these examples are aircraft, shipping, railways, and vehicles.

In fact, there are already manufacturers that are using Nano cells, these cars are dubbed as electric cars, green cars or hybrid cars. With these types of automotive not only the user is saving cash on fuel but they are also saving the environment from the harmful effects of carbon dioxide released by gasoline and diesel fueled cars.
