Audi R8 Spyder: Prices, Specs, Release Date Revealed

The latest Audi R8 Spyder went for a drive on the highway this week and the specs, the price, and the upgrades were revealed for the fans of the franchise. In fact, the vehicle is still bound to release later in 2017 but its characteristics, as well as its high value.  

Audi has been known to create high-performance vehicles that are not only fast but also pricey. For this year, the car maker has revealed yet another addition to the franchise: the brand new Audi R8 Spyder.

The Specs

The vehicle has a middle-engine feature that was created with both aluminum and carbon fiber elements to make the vehicle lighter than it should be. The roof is also retractable, the doors made with A-pillars, and has a windscreen surround that improved its rigidity.

Weighing at 1,795 kg with the driver on board, it has been deemed to be 125kg heavier than the coupe version of the model.

Furthermore, the Audi R8 Spyder is powered by a 5.2L V10 engine that has a rear-wheel drive feature. It can reach a maximum power of 397kW, has a rev range of 7,800rpm, can generate 540Nm of torque, can reach 0-100km/h in just 3.6 sec, and can run 318km/hr.

In other news, the vehicle to be as small as a compact car, according to Overdrive. In fact, it has roll-free attitude and has been deemed to have overall quick reflex reaction. It also has magnetic dampers, has a comfort mode, and has a user-friendly feature with respect to riding quality.

The Price

The Audi R8 Spyder will be available for purchase in Australia by the middle of 2017. Reports indicated that the vehicle would be priced at $388,500 which is $34,000 more than the coupe version of the vehicle, according to CarAdvice. On top of which, the vehicle has been deemed to be cheaper compared to the Huracan convertible and the 488 Spider - its best competition in the automobile market.
