The 2017 Honda CR-V was just unveiled by Honda's Executive Vice-President, John Mendel. The event happened in Detroit yesterday. However, according to a report, he has hinted that their minivan will be out by next Spring.

It is no doubt one of the leaders in the minivan segment, that the Chrysler Pacifica has pioneered in. However, the pioneer seemed to be pushed to the side now. The "minivan" word in itself has become synonymous to either the 2017 Honda Odyssey or 2017 Toyota Sienna.

Price of 2017 Honda Odyssey vs 2017 Toyota Sienna

There are no official figures on the suggested retail prices of these mini-vans. The preceding version's prices should come close. The Honda 2016 Odyssey came out last year at around $37,800. The base price for the Toyota 2016 Sienna starts from $30,000 to $47,000.

Performance Output and Range

The 2017 Toyota Sienna now comes with the same 3.5 L V-6 engine but with a higher horsepower at 298. The last year's predecessor was only at 266 hp. It is basically the same engine under the 2017 Toyota Highlander's hood.

The 2017 Honda Odyssey should not be that far behind in performance. It's last year's version came with an identical 3.5 L V-6 engine. Its power is expected at around 248 hp at 5,700 rpm.

The minivan from Toyota maintains its lead primarily due to its 8-speed automatic transmission. Other than that it has a 27 mpg and a 2mpg -gain. It also beats Honda when it comes to fuel efficiency.

What sets Honda's minivan apart is perhaps its looks.  Honda's has allegedly tweaked the design of its minivan as hinted by leaked patent images online.

The two mini-vans are obviously going neck-to-neck against each other. Their release dates are obviously amongst the most anticipated in their segment. Everyone has speculated on the details. A top executive from Honda allegedly hinted the minivan will be out by next Spring. The truth is, however, everyone is left to do nothing but wait.
