It looked like Apple's 'Project Titan' plans will be 'parked' for another year. USA today reported, that the technology mogul has pushed its EV's delivery date to 2021, a year later that its original target.

Back then, Apple has not yet disclosed its 'Project Titan' plans. It refers to Apple's plans on creating an electric car. However, it was an "open secret," which Tesla CEO, Elon Musk referred to regarding Apple's planned EV endeavor.

Ironically, like Tesla, it has announced a departure of one of its key personnel. Steve Zadesky left Apple, his apparent reason was personal.

It was rumored that Jony Ive did not find satisfactory results pertaining to 'Project Titan.'  This may or may not have contributed to Zadesky's departure.

Then back in July, Chrysler parted with one of its top executives. Doug Betts, Chrysler's former senior vice president has joined Apple. Betts even publicly updated his 'LinkedIn' profile as sort of a silent confirmation on the news.

As it turned out Betts was just among the few Apple have hired or more fittingly 'pirated' from the automobile industry. It is no secret that the tech giant had just mass-hired staff from Mercedez-Benz and Tesla, this year.

There have been artists' impressions of the rumored car that have circulated online. Those images remained ignored by Apple when asked to comment.

If Apple indeed goes through its plans to create a car, it will not be a smooth-sailing. Tesla, a pioneer in the EV industry has already earned a stiff lead on the market. Currently, Faraday Future and Ford were all set to release their green cars.

Apple is not among the first to venture into the EV industry, a move which almost every conglomerate has seemingly started to look into.

This would help the entire country save on cost, as oil consumption will be reduced. Hence, the slowly but surely path to being oil independent.

Apple has been reported to have had talks with Lit Motors. The two companies have discussed a 'possible' merger.

Lit was not the only electric car company that Apple has eyed. McLaren was also targeted by the tech giant for a possible merger.

Lit Motors was known for its electric C-1, car-motorcycle hybrid. It came with two wheels which used gimbal gyroscopes for balance to stay upright. It is more compact than a car and safer than a motor bike.

So, the question remains - has Apple already pulled the plug on its electric car project? The answer is a bleak no.
