Next-Gen 2017 Jeep Compass Debuts In Brazil, Just A Cherokee Clone?

Spy shots caught a glimpse of the upcoming Next-Gen 2017 Jeep Compass and it looks way different from its predecessor. Deemed to have similar interior designs with the Cherokee, what's in store for the brand new C-Segment SUV lineup?

It was revealed that the brand new Next-Gen 2017 Jeep Compass would be manufactured in Goiana, Pernambuco, Brazil before it would hit the market. When the makers were asked why the said model was not featured at the New York Auto Show earlier this year, they revealed that they wanted it to be featured first in South and Central America to push up the brand in that market. Given that, a North American debut would be made with the model come LA Auto Show this coming November. So what are the fans to expect come late this year?

The Specs

As reported by Auto Blog, the Next-Gen 2017 Jeep Compass was expected to have a front-wheel drive as its standard and four-wheel drive. It may also be powered either by 2.0-liter turbo inline-four or a naturally articulated 2.4-liter inline four for its engine. It may also be featured in a manual but most likely would be built with a nine-speed automatic transmission.

Furthermore, the fans of the make and model can also expect 17 powertrain options which would afford the US consumers varied choices of the model to choose from.

The Upgrades

In other news, Motor Trend reported that there would also be unique upgrades to the latest model with respect to its advanced technology and safety features but will retain its reputation as being one of the top-performing off-road automakers in the market as well.  

Jeep Compass vs Cherokee

The interiors of the Next-Gen 2017 Jeep Compass have similar features with that of the Grand Cherokee. The said aesthetic was deemed to be expected with the new model as such would replace both the Renegade and Cherokee in the market.
