The 2018 Toyota Camry is expected to be revealed early next year and as early as now, photos of its new look are surfacing. The latest comes from a NASCAR event where a Camry was seen on stage sporting a hugely revised front fascia and a much more aggressive and in-your-face design.
The Camry, a popular family sedan of the Japanese automaker, has been spied months ago by carparazzis but it was camouflaged so well that people couldn't see any styling changes at all. Now, thanks to Toyota's close tie up with NASCAR, we probably have come face-to-face with the all new design of the 2018 Toyota Camry.
Less Family, More Sporty
Spotted on VW Vortex car forum, it is obvious that NASCAR has gotten expedited access to the new Toyota Camry and accidentally presented it in one of its events. People are now buzzing at its new sporty-aggressive look, leaving its simple, inoffensive and unassuming design that made it one of the best-selling family sedans in the industry.
The shown Toyota Camry was obviously made for NASCAR races, which makes it slightly different than the ones we will eventually see on the road. However, major significant changes are still very apparent, such as the revised headlights with three L-shaped LED lights and a never-before-seen front grille that seems to be influenced by the Lexus spindle grille.
For car aficionados, though, this is no surprise as Toyota has been trying to make its lineup look sportier and the new design of the Toyota Camry proves their decision. Check out the leaked photos here now!
Camry On A Diet
Compared to the current model, the 2018 Toyota Camry will be built using the modular TNGA platform which will make it drastically lighter despite its larger build. The Camry will be offered in 2.5-liter four-cylinder and 3.5-liter six-cylinder engine with all the latest infotainment technology available, as well as some impressive driver-assistance system like automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keep assist.
Also because of the new weight saving, a hybrid version is now possible in the near future.
