Olympic athlete Ryan Lochte was stormed by two men onstage while judge Carrie Ann Inaba was giving her critique during the premiere of "Dancing with the Stars." Lochte was emotional about the incident backstage.
Two men who were wearing an "Anti-Lochte" t-shirt stormed the stage last Monday during "Dancing with the Stars" premiere. The Olympic athlete had just finished performing his number with professional dancer Cheryl Burke when the two ambushed the stage while judge Carrie Ann Inaba was critiquing their performance, reported Perez Hilton.
Although the scene was not displayed on video, several Twitter posts showed the incident and stage security were swift to take the two off the stage before things got worse.
According to the report, Lochte was deeply emotional about the incident. In fact, fellow contestant Jana Kramer said that she was saddened by the incident as she found Lochte to be a very kind person.
"Ryan was backstage and close to tears. Everyone makes mistakes and I really hope America gets to see the guy we are all getting to know, which is a really, really nice guy," she said.
In other news, People reported that the six-time Olympic medalist looked like he was having fun while performing the Foxtrot number to the music of "Call Me Irresponsible" with Burke when the cameras stilled for a moment during judging as the two fellows reached the stage.
The two allegedly screamed in front of the camera and took the spotlight from host Tom Bergeron. In fact, Inaba, while giving her critique, scolded the two men and urged them to make her finish judging.
When the show went for a commercial break, four women wearing similar shirts like those two men who went onstage were seen on set. "Dancing with the Stars" professional Derek Hough also yelled at those who wore the "Anti-Lochte" t-shirt to leave the show before things got worse.
After the show, Ryan Lochte revealed that he got really hurt emotionally by the ambush. Despite the heartbreaking disturbance, the said athlete will continue to participate in upcoming episodes of "Dancing with the Stars" which airs during Mondays on ABC at eight in the evening.
