NASCAR Drivers Fist Fight: Two Drivers Brawl After Race

The latest NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race on Sunday ended in controversial fashion, when drivers John Hunter Nemechek and Cole Custer started to brawl.

It all began during the race when Nemechek used his truck to push Custer's truck, who already led 39 laps on that particular day and was already taking his final turns. When the two trucks had reached the finish line, they were off the pavement, according to Sporting News.

Before he waited for NASCAR to review the finish, Nemechek initially thought he had won. Out of nowhere, Custer tackled him after jumping out of his truck. "If he was in the same position, he would have wrecked me for the win," Nemechek said. He also provided a quintessential NASCAR quote in victory lane: "Rubbin' is racin."

Unfortunately for Nemechek, his win was overshadowed by the fact that Custer tackled him on the pit straight, and it was the race's aftermath that got the most attention from the Sprint Cup Drivers, the audience, and people all over the world.

Before Sunday's Truck Series, Nemechek was only looking for a second win. Custer, on the other hand, had won the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park race this weekend, as well as securing a spot in the series' championship-deciding Chase.

After the brawl, Custer made his feelings known and unleashed all of his frustrations in a post-race interview. "He hit me coming to the second to the last corner - then hit me again and that sent me into the grass and he just drove me up into the fence," Custer said, according to Motorsport.

"I was expecting it - kind of - because he's raced a lot of people like that but it's a shame." And he didn't hide his disappointment at not making it into Chase. It was a great opportunity for us to get into the Chase - and he took it away from us," he concluded.
