Aside from K-2SO, there is another new droid that is going to be introduced in the much awaited Star Wars Film, "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story". Astro-mech droid C2-B5 will make its debut in the upcoming stand-alone Star Wars film. C2-B5 shares similar looks with the classic and beloved R2-D2 of past trilogies only this new one sports an all matte-black in color.

"As you may know, the Galactic Empire relies on astromech droids to maintain its machinery. But unlike the Rebel Alliance, the Imperial technicians do not grant their droids independence and subject them to frequent memory wipes to keep them subservient." Peter Townley, host of "The Star Wars Show" explained when C2-B5 was revealed in the latest episode of the said show.

It is unclear, though, if the memory wiping process is linked to the Rebel Alliance's plan to ransack and steal the Death Star.

C2-B5 is expected to play a significant role in the big scheme to steal information from the Empire. The actor behind the new black droid's voice still remains unknown but K-2SO's voice is provided by Alan Tudyk.

"Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" follows the adventures of protagonist Jyn Erso (played by Felicity Jones), as she was tasked by Mon Mothma (played by Genevieve O'Reilly) to steal the plans for the then under-construction Death Star. Aided by the rebels and non-allied forces, Jyn will be in for something wilder than she can ever imagine.

The highly anticipated film is directed by Gareth Edwards from a screenplay by Chris Weitz. This stand-alone Star Wars movie stars Felicity Jones, Genevieve O'Reailly, Diego Luna, Donnie Yen, Forest Whitaker, Ben Mendelsohn, Mads Mikkelsen, Riz Ahmed, Jonathan Aris, James Earle Jones and Jimmy Smits.

"Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" is expected to hit U.S. theaters on December 17 this year.
