Created to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Lotus facilities in Hethel Lotus, the British manufacturer revealed the production of the Lotus Elise 250 Special Edition which will be limited to 50 units only.

What makes the Lotus Elise 250 Special Edition special? Upgraded interior, upgraded exterior but more importantly, its 899 kilograms which is 32g less than the Lotus Elise Cup 250, the model it was based on. This will make the special edition faster and easier to drive.

To achieve such weight content, designers have used materials of high strength and low weigh elements such as carbon fiber front splitter, aluminum rear spoiler and specialized trunk lid, among others. It is also worth adding that the rear diffuser houses a large center exhaust outlet that makes the car looks sportier than ever, at first glance you'll know, this is not a conventional Lotus Elise.

"it is extremely fast and agile because of its weight but is also impressive in sight. Surely a must have for all the Lotus followers" Jean - Marc Gales, CEO of Lotus brand said.

The engine of the Lotus Elise 250 Special Edition is a 1800 supercharged four - cylinder that allows it to have a 246 hp at 7,200 rpm and 250 Nm between 3,500 and 5,500 rpm. All this energy being sent to the rear wheels, passing by a manual gearbox six - speed electronic lock combined with its low weight allows it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.3 seconds, reaching a top speed of 250 km / h.

In addition, the model incorporates adjustable Electronic stability control and is equipped with an impressive multimedia system, leather upholstery in blue and gray, sports seats and floor mats to improved insulation.

The car has not arrived in the United States yet but cost 64,000 euros in the German market and 47,900 in the UK market. The Lotus Elise 250 Special Edition will be available in metallic blue, yellow, white and red with forged wheels in silver or black
