Porsche Introduced New "Infotainment System" Complete With Apps, Music And A Touchscreen Customizable Dashboard

Porsche introduces a new "Infotainment" - information and entertainment - system with their latest generation of Porsche Communication Management (PCM). The new PCM will be incorporated in the new Porsche Panamera and will ensure full connectivity between the user and Porsche.

Porsche's new infotainment system allow customers to configure and activate various individual apps, features and services so Porsche owners can spend more time in their car efficiently.

The main attraction of the Porsche Connect is the touch screen of 12.3 inches PCM that is then integrated with the app which can be downloaded for free on iTunes and Google Play Store. For the first time, it has a customizable home screen where you can add widgets that will define the most important features for you or the features that you always use.

This infotainment will include traditional ways to manipulate vehicle functions such as heating control, opening or closing doors and windows as well as the sound system of the car

The navigation package include features and applications such as the ability to use Google Earth andGoogle Street View, which makes navigating routes and finding places easier. Not to mention that it can also give you traffic information in real time. It also includes information on flights: the arrival and departure of airplanes, delays and even the number of terminal and gate. When planning a trip, the infotainment system can be used to search for destinations and transfer them to the vehicle's GPS to be navigated.

It will also connect the Porsche to your smartphones or Apple watch where your phonebook can instantly be downloaded. Download the siri application for Apple phones and you can command your Porsche infotainment system to send and answer text messages via Voice command.
