What makes the spike in sales all the more significant is the fact that Los Angeles represents the largest car market in the US. What makes the Ford Fusion sales revelation all the impressive is that it comes on the back of a 5 percent dip that mid sized sedans have witnessed so far in LA.

The Fusion has already emerged as the second best seller in Ford's line-up of cars in Los Angeles as well as the entire North America. with the F-Series truck leading the pack.

"The spike in Fusion Hybrid and Energi sales is a testament to Ford's advanced engineering team developing fuel-efficient and fun-to-drive electric vehicles offering customers the widest range of choice in the segment," said Wade Jackson, Ford Fusion marketing manager.

Further, as Green Car Report points out, the above sales figure represents only retail sales and not fleet sales of the vehicles.
