This has been proven with the launch of the Competition Package together with the M4 GTS. However, M2 is not preceded by a subsequent model.

Fortunately, BMW's M Division has thought of ingenious ways to relive the prime of its front-line model.

Auto Sport und Motor, a German magazine says that MBW started R & D on a lighter and more powerful variant of the M2. This may possibly be named as the M2 GTS or M2 CSL.

It will be featuring a lighter carbon fiber body panel and a more powerful aero turbo engine. Its horsepower is amped up from 360 to 400. This offers a more compact, portable, and faster M variant.

Even though there are still no official reports coming from BWM, it still isn't much of a surprise considering the odds and statistics related to it. The hype is building up, and supercar enthusiasts are very eager to test drive these. BMW's marketing strategy in the form of "unofficial leaks" is very effective.

The car manufacturer has already started offering a series of higher-performance upgrades for almost all of its M models. This brings consumers to a possible new release coming up.

Based on the trend and the statistics related to its release pattern, it would most likely be released by the end of this year. The regular M2 model and the M4 GTS variant are considered to be the two favorite M cars today.

Using the features of the super-performance features that the coupes have is indeed proven to be a marketable and wonderful idea.
