2017 Ford Shelby GT350 Mustang Gets Hot Makeover

Ford's 2017 Shelby GT350 Mustangs would be featuring a selection of vibrant hues, such as Ruby Red Metallic, Lightning Blue, and the popular Grabber Blue, according to MSN.

Other than the new color palate option, the 2017 model would be integrated with extended services such as back-seats and driver-assistance packages.

"Ford Performance is always listening to customer feedback. At the end of last year, we started offering a back-seat option for Shelby GT350R due to customer demand," said Dave Pericak, Ford Performance global director. "Now, we have adjusted the packages available to continue to provide more of what customers want on the Shelby GT350 Mustang."

Ford has further expanded the GT350's standard packages where customers can choose such as the Tech Pack and Track Packs. The Tech Pack has added an engine oil cooling effect to the Shelby, as well as air-conditioned and power-heated seats, MagneRide suspension, voice-activated Navigation, and last but not least, a short rear spoiler.

On the other hand, the Track Pack would also have an almost-similar set of value-added services as the Tech Pack. The former would include transmission, manual Recaro seating, bigger rear spoiler and rear-end coolers, and an aluminum strut-tower rods, with the exception of the Navigation feature.

"No longer do buyers have to choose between the Track Pack and additional features," continued Pericak. "The 2017 Shelby GT350 also brings three new colors and the choice of either an available Electronics Package or a Convenience Package," according to the publication.

Two of the Shelby's colors, Competition Orange and Deep Impact Blue, won't be part of the new line of hues for the GT350s, in a MotorAuthority post. The Shelby's powertrain remains the same, while its 5.2 liter V8 still amps up to 526 horsepower and 429 lb-feet of torque. These are then channeled through a six-speed manual transmission to the rear wheels.
