Fans of the Honda Civic sedan will be happy to know that the 2016 model is here and is available at a very considerate price.

With an MSRP of $19,475, which includes the $835 destination fee, the base model of the 2016 Civic only costs $165 more than its 2015 counterpart, reported Motor Trend.

The starting price gets consumers the entry level model, the Honda Civic LX, which is equipped with a six-speed manual transmission and a 2.0-liter inline four. A model with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) costs an additional $800.

After the LX model, the next in line is the Civic EX CVT, which costs $21,875 and features a full-color display in the instrument panel, touchscreen infotainment, push-button start, moonroof, leather shift boot, walk away door locking, and 60/40 split folding rear seats, according to Digital Trends.

There's also a more luxurious variant, the Civic EX-L, which costs $24,535 and features leather seating surfaces, dual-zone automatic climate control, an eight-way power driver's seat, and a leather-trimmed steering wheel and shift knob. Another $1,000 adds a Garmin navigation system with 3D view and real-time traffic.

Finally, there's the range-topping Civic Touring variant, which costs $27,335 and is loaded with enough features such as LED headlights, rain-sensing wipers, a four-way power passenger seat, heated rear seats, and Honda Sensing safety features, to turn the Civic, which is an economy compact vehicle, into an entry-level luxury car, reported Autoblog.

The Civic is one of Honda's most successful vehicles, credited for almost 25 percent of the carmaker's vehicle sales. Despite its iconic status however, the Civic competes in one of the most competitive segments in the automotive industry, which ultimately pushed Honda to completely overhaul the Civic's design in the 2016 model.
