'Top Gear' Host Jeremy Clarkson Suspended But For How Long?

The BBC has decided to suspend "Top Gear" host Jeremy Clarkson following a "fracas" with a producer.

Clarkson, 54, was the only one suspended so far, according to CNN. He's been the host of the automotive show since 2002.

"Following a fracas with a BBC producer, Jeremy Clarkson has been suspended pending an investigation," said the BBC in press statement.

Obviously this means "Top Gear" won't air this Sunday, but a petition has been filed in support of Clarkson.

More than 400,000 people have signed a petition to bring back the popular host on Change.org. Fans have been using the #BringBackClarkson hashtag on Twitter to spread their message.

"We the undersigned petition the BBC to reinstate Jeremy Clarkson. Freedom to fracas. BringBackClarkson," says the petition, which was started by Guido Fawkes.

Famed journalist Piers Morgan joked on his Twitter account that he's available to host "Top Gear" if they don't bring Clarkson back.

To be fair, it's not like Clarkson wasn't given a chance to correct his ways. He was put on final warning in 2014 after using the n-word while reciting a nursery rhyme during filming of a BBC2 show. He's also been arrested for drunk driving, and once referred to a Ferrari as "special needs" and a "simpleton" in a review.

The show, which also stars Richard Hammond and James May, nearly caused a riot while filming in Argentina for making fun of the country's clothing, food and history.

So far Clarkson hasn't commented on the subject matter, though he has discussed a classic movie that could air in place of Top Gear this week. He's also retweeted a viewer asking the BBC not to punish fans by pulling the remaining episodes of the show.

Guinness World Records has recognized Top Gear as the most-watched factual show of all time, with episodes broadcast in more than 200 countries and territories, according to Reuters.

So what do you think the BBC should do? Give Clarkson another chance or has he had enough chances?
