2013 Acura ILX Production Model Revealed at Chicago Auto Show

The 2013 Acura ILX, whose Concept design was introduced earlier at the Detroit Show, was revealed at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show.  


Based on the design similar to that of Honda Civic, the ILX adds stylish flavor and aerodynamically-efficient factor to the exterior design. The five-passenger luxury sedan provides combination of compact proportions with a roomy interior space.


"First-time luxury buyers tend to place a high value on exterior styling, affordability and environmental issues, and that's what we have created with the new Acura ILX," said the head of the company's Design Studio, Jon Ikeda.


Ikeda hopes the ILX would become an entry luxury model for many young buyers.

 
The company also said the new Acura will be priced just below $30,000, which will be available at dealerships in the upcoming spring.


There will be three powertrain options for the ILX, including Acura's first-ever-gas-electric hybrid. The entry level ILX will have a 2.0L 4-cylicer engine that has a fuel efficiency of 24 city /32 hwy while producing 150 horsepower.
