New Year's Eve: Can a Car Get You to the Celebration in Every Time Zone?

(Spoiler alert: Probably not.)

A similar question was posed by the Washington Post, which wondered if it was possible—by any means of transportation—to be present for the beginning of the new year in every time zone.

Given the space-time continuum, it's not hard to imagine that physics would make the act quite difficult. But the Post postulates that an F-22 Raptor Fighter Jet might do the trick.
