Recently leaked photos of what appears to be Apple's iOS in the Car interface could mean the California-based company

Photos were released by app developer Steven Troughton-Smith on Twitter, and first reported by MacRumors.com.

Troughton-Smith declined to say how he was able to get the photos, though the files might have been included in the new iOS 7.1 Beta 4.

The feature is designed to "provide enhanced iOS integration in automobiles, offering an iOS-style interface on the car's touchscreen dash that allows users to make phone calls, access Maps, control music, and more," according to MacRumors.com.

Screen shots released by Troughton-Smith shows what appears to be a warning screen, similar to one that appears on most GPS devices.

A home screen can also be seen in the screenshots as well.

The recently released images differ from the ones provided by Apple so far, meaning the software has improved greatly since then.

On the iOS 7 website, the system is still listed as "coming soon" though Apple has provided clues as to when iOS in the Car will finally appear in vehicles.

Towards the end of 2013, company CEO Tim Cook said the system is an "important part of the (company) ecosystem," and is a "key focus," according to MacRumors.

Automakers like Acura, Audi, Chevrolet and Honda have all said they're interested in including iOS in the Car in 2014 vehicles.

Many media outlets think that the system could be included when iOS 7.1 is released. Apple has yet to announce when its next operating system will debut.
