Los Angeles police have arrested a man accused of stealing a piece of the wrecked Porsche sports car that actor Paul Walker was riding in when he died during a fiery crash on Nov. 30.
The thief was identified as Jameson Witty, 18, of Tujunga, C.A., according to CNN.
Witty and another male stole a piece of the vehicle while at a stop light as the burnt 2005 Porsche Carrera GT was being removed from the crash site and lifted on a flatbed tow truck, according to the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department, who spoke with CNN.
"A witness saw a male exit a vehicle that was following the tow truck," the sheriff's department said in a statement. "The male grabbed a piece of the wrecked Porsche off the tow truck bed."
A red T-top roof panel was found and taken from a residence in Canyon Country, which is not far from the crash site.
Another suspect has been identified and is currently "making arrangements" to turn himself in, according to CNN.
A district attorney has been asked by investigators to consider charges of felony grand theft and tampering evidence against both individuals.
The Porsche was on display last weekend at a holiday toy donation event for Walker's charity, Reach Out WorldWide, which was being held at a high-performance car shop owned by driver Roger Rodas.
Just minutes after leaving the event, Rodas, who was driving the Porsche with Walker in the passenger seat, crashed the vehicle some 500 yards away, according to witnesses. Both men didn't survive the crash.
An autopsy report indicated that the actor died as a result of "combined effects of traumatic and thermal injuries."
