A California woman was pulled over recently for allegedly speeding while wearing Google Glass, according to USA Today.
Cecelia Abadie posted her ticket to her Google+ page with a caption describing the event.
"A cop just stopped me and gave me a ticket for wearing Google Glass while driving," the comment said, which has received over 500 comments since being posted.
The Temecula, C.A. native added that she was cited in San Diego for "driving with monitor visible to driver" according to USA Today.
The California Highway Patrol confirmed to news to The Los Angeles Times that the ticket was issued for "violating California Vehicle Code 27602."
The code reads:
"A person shall not drive a motor vehicle if a television receiver, a video monitor, or a television or video screen, or any other similar means of visually displaying a television broadcast or video signal that produces entertainment or business applications, is operating and is located in the motor vehicle at a point forward of the back of the driver's seat, or is operating and the monitor, screen, or display is visible to the driver while driving the motor vehicle."
California Highway Patrol spokesman Jake Sanchez said to The Los Angeles Times that officers aren't looking for drivers using Google Glass, but they are looking for objects or devices that could distract a driver.
Abadie said the device was not on while she was driving, and that she barely ever uses it while behind the wheel of a car.
