Eight people were killed this weekend when a monster truck drove into a crowd during a show in northern Mexico.
Of the eight people killed, four were children, according to Reuters. At least 79 others were injured.
The incident took place on Oct. 5 at the El Rejon dam on the outskirts of Chihuahua, which is 230 miles south of Mexico's border.
Of the 79 injured, 28 are still in the hospital, and 12 are in delicate, but stable condition, according to an official at the public prosecutor's office.
"I fell over, and when I turned around I saw the tire very close. It hit me and threw me to the other side," said Jesus Manuel Ibarra, 41, as he was treated for injuries to his arm and hip, according to the Associated Press.
The driver, identified as Francisco Velaquez, was detained after the incident. He said in a press statement that he hit his head on something inside the cabin and lost consciousness, according to Reuters.
The incident is still being investigated as of press time. Police have not ruled out that alcohol was involved in the incident.
A video of the event has been published on YouTube and broadcasted on TV stations around the country.
The video shows a red truck with gigantic wheels bouncing over two smaller cars and barreling into the nearby crowd.
"The driver hit his head and his helmet flew off," said Spectator Daniel Dominguez, 18, according to the Associated Press. "The truck came directly at where we were."
The scheduled three day event, which featured airplanes, monster trucks and other performances, was canceled on its second day after the incident.
