DreamWorks Animation's new film "Turbo" hits theater's this week, but the film might have never been completed without the help of a well-known automaker.

A partnership between DreamWorks and Chevrolet was designed to engage fans across the U.S. and select markets overseas to "enhance the film's authentic racing environment."

Chevrolet worked with DreamWorks on the animated versions of the Camaro and Chevy-powered Indy cars featured in the film. The movie marks the first time the two companies have worked together in this fashion.

"Turbo is one of the most anticipated films of the summer, and we couldn't be more excited about this collaboration, which aligns perfectly with Chevrolet's renewed presence in INDYCAR," said Tim Mahoney, chief marketing officer, Chevrolet in a press statement. "Millions of future drivers will be inspired by Turbo to realize their dreams both big and small."

Spoiler alert: Turbo receives his wish of becoming the fastest snail ever after a run-in with a Chevrolet Camaro. Later on in the film, the Chevy "bowtie" logo can be seen during important parts of the Indianapolis 500, which Turbo competes in.

Chevrolet has created a unique real-life replica of a custom Camaro featured in the movie according to a General Motors press release.

DreamWorks and Chevrolet have also created joint TV, print, online and social media advertisements for the movie.

"In a film about a slow snail who dreams of being fast, who better than Chevrolet to give our hero his first taste of high-speed driving on the open road? Our relationship with Chevrolet both onscreen and at the Indy 500 is a natural fit that adds a layer of authenticity to this wild ride of a story." said Anne Globe, DreamWorks Animation's Chief Marketing Officer.

So if you're looking for a fun and inspirational film to see this weekend with your friends or family, make sure to check out "Turbo" now playing at a local theater near you.
