Driving in winter is one of the harshest times of the year. It goes the same for the vehicle and its driver. Whether driving a humongous SUV or a little-bitty subcompact, it is no difference at all. You are stuck. To help a motorist in this chilly predicament, here are 5 easy steps to free your car from snow. Just five easy steps that should help others from this inconvenience. Here we go!

1. Make a path for the tires in the snow.

Several things that will be needed is a snow shovel to dig out the ground around the tires. If away from home, just use anything on had to do it. To make it better and be prepped for the headache. Keep one in the trunk just in case. Dig out a few feet of snow from the front and back of the tires. It should be higher than the car's ground clearance. Or it will be more difficult to unstuck from the snow.

2. Rock the car till it is free and can move out!

This part is all done by the car. If caution is not observed, then expect a broken gearbox. Shift with the car from drive, reverse, and do it again. Listen to gears and feel it out! This is all the drivers call, and the wrong one gets a tow home. Including a repair bill at the local mechanic too. When the wheel is at the top of the rocking part, use the brake and hold position. Shift the gear when the vehicle is not moving! Time a neutral shift with each "stop", then rock. This is not easy for novices so take note!

3. Jamming on the accelerator should be avoided.

Spinning wheels uselessly in snow will dig deeper (genius). Never floor the gas and time the right moment, then give enough gas and release. Each step should help to rock the car out of the snow. Building momentum and pushing the gas is more efficient to get it done. If you are low on fuel, then avoid wasting it.

4. Improve loose traction underneath the tires.

Car wheels get stuck because there is no grip or traction for tires to hold on to! If wheels spin in place without any change, then stop because of no traction. Best way to get traction is to put anything under the tires. Use loose soil, make a sandbag, or use anything that can be slotted in to gain traction. Shift the gear, time the throttles till traction is gained!

5. Call others to help push the car out.
If others can help to push the car out. That would be better and faster to do. Go with the push and give gas, but be careful. Apply snows chains for better traction while at it. These solutions will help in freeing the car from snow.

Be patient with these 5 easy steps to free any snowed-in car! These are the best tips when driving in winter. Good luck!
