Droids on Four Wheels coming soon with a Recently Developed 5G Communication Module

Tech giants are racing to get a lead in creating specific hardware for the upcoming 5G internet. The recent development of Qualcomm chips that will integrate 5G into a connected automotive network that will spawn a multitude of apps. Bridging the technology will need an advanced communication module that will help in linking up cloud computing and other relevant tech. One of these firms is LG Innotek that recently introduce their own proprietary 5G communication module that will be installed in vehicles soon.

Electronic components are needed to process and facilitate the computations that is where a 5G communication module is really needed. Devices like this will be the virtual bridge, data storage, and RF circuit (radio frequency) that will be equipped in cars or a vehicle communication device on the roof. With 5G looming around the corner and imminent linking up of a connected environment designed to permanently loop cars in an electronic web. Without these devices that can link up to the automotive network and also other networks, it will be difficult for the technology off the ground.

Another aspect of sharing the information is whether in real-time and sharing large bits of data from the automotive connected net. All the data is shared via a secure link that is part of the primary functions. Drivers just sit back, without lifting a finger. Autonomously driven cars are now equipped with brains and droids on four wheels. Just like those automatons in Sci-Fi-movies. The word autonomous is symmetrical to "automaton" which is another term for robot or droid.

Crucial to this 5G communication module is V2X ((Vehicle-to-Everything) that is how the car AI talks to everything connected in the electronic loop. For example, certain devices will have a short-range that includes radio communication that will be relevant to the smart car while on the road.

Developing communication modules specific for 5G has to be compatible with the Qualcomm Snapdragon chip. Solutions were needed to lessen signal loss and excessive heat due to large amounts of data processed. Other companies ran into this problem, but LG Innotek using its own RF Technology with high precision and advanced materials to make the chip heat resistant. Utilizing density modularized technology that's combined with new material to make the chip a reality.

Requirements to design the communication module were the following.

 1. Low latency, or stimulation and response from the input (1ms or less). Fast response time is a must.

 2. Heat resistance from increased computing data and from external heat.

 3. Minute enough to be installed anywhere in the car or any equipment.

 4. High tech material that conducts heat, and doesn't lose efficiency over time. It should be made of durable material.

 5. Compatibility with current LTE components for easy replacement and can be used for any region.

Innovations like the LG Innotek 5G Communication Module realize full autonomous driving. This component will start of the era when cars and the connected data network are like droids on four wheels.
