The sixth generation supermini no longer justifies the term "supermini." The new model has an increased size with 25 percent more luggage space.

The new Polo utilized the brand's MQB platform, which is commonly used on bigger cars now. The decision to use the MQB platform was also intended to make room for technology advancements and to trim down engineering costs.

The platform gives the new Polo a 2,564mm wheelbase. It also sports a wider front at 62mm and rear track width of 49mm. The total length of the car is 4,053mm with 1,751mm width and 1,446mm height.

The new Polo revealed in Germany features more classy interior. It also carries an 8-inch infotainment screen and a digital instrument display panel.

The new model also comes with an improved exterior. It has more distinct panel edges now and looks a bit refined.

In terms of performance, the new model runs with nine emission-friendly Euro 6-compatible engines starting at 1.0-liter petrol. The automaker will also offer the latest 1.5-liter petrol with cylinder deactivation for this model. In addition, two 1.6-liter diesel engines will also be offered as other variants.

Volkswagen also boasts of the new 2.0-liter turbocharged engine variant of the upcoming Polo. The engine can deliver 147kW power, making it a mini supercar.

Furthermore, the 2018 Volkswagen Polo offers the optional keyless entry feature, which is the first time in this model. It also comes with automatic cruise control feature.

For safety features, it also has the emergency brake assist, LED headlights and blind-spot detection. It also comes with tire pressure monitor and pedestrian monitoring.

The 2018 Volkswagen Polo will be officially launched in November in Europe and will be released in 14 body paint options, 13 various dashboard decorations. Moreover, there are also 11 different seat covers and two interior trim options to choose from.
