New Mustang GT500 has been spotted on the road while testing. The heavily camouflaged mule seems to suggest that the new successor has a huge surprise to unwrap soon.

The successor of Mustang GT500 has made its discrete debut on the road. Unfortunately, the automaker seems to keep the suspense going as the mule only shows very scarce details.

Spy photos of the new Mustang GT500 are circulating on the web. The prototype was heavily camouflaged hinting an all-new design of the new mustang.

Only the windshield and windows were not covered while the mule was testing on the road. The front fascia, side, and rear aspects were all concealed hinting on a fresh lighting system, new body design and powertrain.

Although the mule was spied under heavy wraps, some clues can be taken out of its form. The four exhaust tips can be noticed from the lower rear.

Looking at the front fascia, the fenders seem to look brawny. Whereas, openings on the mule's wrap at the hood portion seem to suggest a new detail on that aspect too.

The nose looks like it is sporting a thinner bumper. If this is the case, then the new Mustang may have provided larger intake space.

With regard to the powertrain, the spotted mule did not give any clue yet. However, it is expected that the new Mustang GT500 will run with better specs to compete with the powerful Challenger SRT Demon which is capable of delivering 840hp.

Furthermore, rumors say that the new Mustang GT500 will most likely come with a dual-clutch gearbox. Unfortunately, the spied mule did not offer an exclusive inside look, so there is no way to confirm this yet.

In another report, the new coupe sports a set of 305mm-wide Michelin tires on the front. It may also come with carbon ceramic brakes and carbon fiber wheels.

The presence of the new GT500 seems to suggest that the successor is inching close to production now. The new coupe will most likely make its grand debut soon.
