2017 GMC Acadia: Adequate Fuel Economy And Attractive New Design

The 2017 GMC Acadia is highly rated by experts primarily because of its adequate fuel economy. However, for those who are more into aesthetics and design, this SUV doesn't disappoint either.

For one, the 2017 GMC Acadia V-6 FWD is reviewed as strong in everyday driving. The smooth transmission also impresses experts as it rarely fumbles requests for more acceleration. The huge steering is also accurate enough and its body motions are well controlled considering the size of the Acadia.

The Acadia managed 25 mpg on 75-mph highway fuel-economy test. This is significantly better as it is 2 mpg better than all other AWD model. However, the FWD overall average is at 19 mpg. The Acadia is best-suited for large families. Its interior remains configurable and spacious. It is also important to note that some experts are not a fan of the two-seat third row for having limited legroom.

Its bottom cushion makes for an awkward seating position. The third row is best suited for children and not ideal for adults, especially the taller ones. Given the awkward third row, it is still at par for its class.

As for 2017 Acadia SLT, it is able to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 6.2-seconds. This is good especially for a vehicle this size. It also finished a quarter mile in 15.0-seconds.

Generally, the 2017 GMC Acadia is smaller, lighter, and more fuel efficient as compared to its predecessor. There is also CVT available for the high-end model, the Denali. It is a good cross between compact Terrain and full-sized Yukon.

This SUV is powered by 2.5-liter inline-4 which is capable of producing 193-horsepower and 188 pound-feet of torque. The vehicle's optional 3.6-liter, on the other hand, is even more powerful for producing 310-horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque.

The 2017 GMC Acadia is also a powerful hauler able to tow up to 4,000-pounds. There are several SUVs of its kind currently in the market. Each SUV boast of unique capabilities and advanced functions and the 2017 GMC Acadia is considered a front-runner.
