Porsche has just unveiled the latest RWD Panamera Executive at the 2017 Shanghai Auto Show. The German sports car manufacturer produced the longer sedan exclusive to the Chinese market to show how they value this specific group. Apparently, this market loves longer sedans.

Porsche AG Chairman of the Executive Board Oliver Blume pointed out that the new model emphasized how they value the Chinese market. Porsche has been enjoying an increased sales in China since 2015.

The major players from the generated sales are the SUVs and sedans from the German automaker. Apparently, reports say that the Chinese market prefers long wheelbase vehicles, yet not willing to pay the extra cost that comes with the extra power.

The unveiled Panamera Executive is different from the current Panamera Executive series. The new model has been produced exclusively as a rear-wheel drive. The existing models are four-wheel drives such as the Panamera 4 Executive, Panamera 4S Executive, Panamera Turbo Executive, Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Executive and Panamera 4S E-Hybrid Executive.

The RWD Panamera Executive is a long-wheelbase sedan with a 5.9-inch gap in between the axles. Underneath, the China-exclusive sedan carries the turbocharged V6 engine that can deliver 326 hp (243 kW).

Meanwhile, Porsche also introduced several other models at the 2017 Shanghai Auto Show. The Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Executive, Panamera Sport Turismo, 911 GTS and 911 GT3 Cup also had their Asian premiere.

The Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Executive has a biturbo 4.0-liter V8 engine which also comes with an electric motor. The combined engine and electric motor can produce a total of 671 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque.

The next-gen 911 will have two new variants, the GT2 and GT3 RS. Not a lot of details were revealed but only the spy photos of the new variants while undergoing test were shown.
