iMac Pro Finally Coming Later This Year?

The iMac Pro is likely to come out later this year. It will be marketed for professionals and hopefully, Apple will finally deliver.

According to a report by Business Insider, the Cupertino company has plans to come up with a new "pro" version of the iMac desktop. The new pro will likely have specs similar to the MacBook Pro.

While Apple didn't have much to say about the new product, Phil Schiller, the company's senior vice president for marketing, did state that it would not have a touchscreen. Apparently, touch isn't something that a pro user is looking for. They want storage, expandability, and performance.

Last year, a lot of news was going around about a new MacBook Pro with a Touch Bar. This was essentially an overpriced laptop that had no pro features except for a touch bar that didn't seem very "pro" for most users. Overall, it has been about three years since Apple has done something for the Mac Pro line.

Previously, it was reported that a new iMac 2017 could be released later this year. Will it be the iMac Pro that Schilling was talking about? Currently, there is still no confirmation so anything's possible at the moment. However, it is very possible that it is since the company has confirmed that they will be focusing on the best iMac ever for next year. This could possibly be the iMac that was previously reported about with an 8K Retina display and an Intel Cannon Lake processor.

In another report by The Verge, it was reported that the Cupertino company was likely doing this because it is evident that the professionals are slowly abandoning Apple. The upcoming Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is coming out soon and on the desktop front, the Microsoft Surface was nothing short of amazing.

The iMac Pro should be spectacular if it wants to compete with Microsoft. Will it be the iMac 2017 that the internet has been buzzing about for weeks? Or will it really be the pro gadget that professionals have been waiting for? Share your thoughts and comments below.
