The next-generation Infiniti QX80 Monograph concept's teaser image has finally been released well ahead of the New York auto show. Based on the teaser image, this is the company's next-gen largest SUV and also there are quite a few modern-day changes done to its front end.

The company has maintained a tight lid regarding the next-generation Infiniti QX80 Monograph's powertrain and other significant details. The only thing they divulged is the SUV's name, QX80 Monograph.

The first noticeable upgrade received by the SUV is that it is saying goodbye to the "Moby Dick" front end. Given that most SUVs these days have crossed the line of modern designs, it's about time the QX80 received its fair share of facelift.

Thus, it looks more athletic and sharper. It exudes a bit of muscular take on its SUV design language. In fact, it resembles the Infiniti concepts unveiled during the Beijing auto show last year, like the QX Sport Inspiration, which by the way is set to be the upcoming QX50 SUV.

Notice that the headlights are in line with the top part of the grille. Also, the tops of the fenders are significantly higher, providing a more aggressive, square-shouldered appearance.

And perhaps, the Nissan Patrol will be embedded in the next-generation Infiniti QX80 Monograph concept's DNA. The current-generation QX80 boasts a 5.6-liter naturally aspirated V8 delivers around 399 horses and 413 lb-ft of torque. Judging by this and the very thin teaser image, the next-generation Infiniti QX80 Monograph could sport the latest version of the VK56 V8 mated to a sophisticated four-wheel drive system.

But we will keep you posted as soon as the next-generation Infiniti QX80 Monograph reveals its chunky size at the New York Auto Show next week. Perhaps then, all questions will be answered whether or not this SUV is a refresh or a new vehicle all together.
