"The Secret World," the popular massively multiplayer online role-playing video game, is poised for a re-launch this spring. The new game will be called "Secret World Legends" and it will feature quite a handful of new features and overhauled mechanics.

"Secret World Legends" developer Funcom confirmed that the game will feature revamped combat mechanics and a completely overhauled progression system. The new game will also feature new world aesthetics including updated visuals.

The new game promises more than 100 hours of new story content. The game will also remain as a free-to-play title, something that has led some analysts to question how Funcom can monetize the game. Nevertheless, the new game is still a welcome sight for both new and seasoned players.

In a statement acquired by VG24/7, producer Scott Junior said, "Secret World Legends features combat that feels more natural, deep systems that are more intuitive, better structuring of the early game for new players, and improved mission flow to strengthen the pace of progression for players."

Despite the promises the new game bring, "Secret World Legends" will be running on a completely different server than "The Secret World." This means that players of the original game cannot migrate their characters into the new one. However, for those who are part of the game's Membership program, they can copy their existing membership from the old game to the new one.

"Secret World Legends" is currently in closed beta with a full launch expected to hit spring of this year, according to Game-Debate. Interested gamers can sign up for the program to try it out. "Secret World Legends" will be released exclusively on the Windows PC platform.
