2017 Volvo V40 Gets A New Look

Volvo has given its best-selling vehicles, the 2017 Volvo V40 and V40 Cross Country a brand new face of Volvo for the 2017 model with trim changes across the range. The updates give the V40 with the new "Thor's Hammer headlights, resulting in a new look that is shared with the automaker's new 90 Series cars.

Senior Vice President, Sales, Marketing and Customer Service at Volvo Car Group, Björn Annwall, said, "The V40 is the best-selling Volvo model in Europe and the second-most popular Volvo model globally, making it a very important car for the company. With the updates for the model year 2017, we make this already very successful model even more attractive to customers in the segment."

The significant exterior update includes the addition of five colors to the new V40 offer that includes a completely new Amazon Blue and Denim Blue, as well as the three colors that are currently used by other models in the Volvo cars: Mussel Blue, Bursting Blue, and Luminous Sand. The 2017 Volvo V40 also gets "new rank marks" that were first used on the XC90, visualizing trim levels and version and eight new wheels across the V40, R-Design and V40 Cross Country models.

On the inside, passengers benefit from Volvo's CleanZone technology, which can filter the outside air before it enters the cabin to avoid harmful pollutants. Also, the new V40 also supports the VolvoOnCall app, a smartphone and smartwatch app that allows owners to find their vehicle in a parking garage, lock and unlock it, and remotely set the climate control.

Under the hood, the new V40 is equipped with gasoline and diesel burning four-cylinder engine. The entry level has a 2.0-liter powertrain that produces 122 hp, while the one that has the most powerful kick is a 2.0-liter that makes 245 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque thanks to a large turbocharger.

The 2017 Volvo V40 now sells for £25,095. Volvo has already hinted that the next V40 will bow in a couple of year's time and will take on the Volkswagen Golf.
