The 2018 Citroen Aircross SUV was launched at the Shanghai Motor Show before hitting the market in 2018. Recently, it is said that the C5 is likely to be mechanically similar to the Peugeot 3008 SUV.

This model is not first of Citroen's SUV line-up. The name C5 Aircross was just formalized during the Geneva Motor Show. The CEO of Citroen, Linda Jackson, has formalized and illustrated two design sketches that feature the next family SUV which was presented during the press conference at the Geneva Motor Show. It is said to be assembled in the local factory of Chengdu before being manufactured in Rennes for a commercialization planned in Europe in the fall.

Assuming that the 2018 Citroen C5 Aircross is to have a four-wheel drive, it will somehow become the top of the range set-up. However, most of Citroen's buyers prefers the brand's front wheel drive with an established petrol and diesel engines.

The C5 Aircross was inspired by the Citroen C4 Cactus, fitting long, thin headlights, and a bluff front end black roof pillars. It features the same dent-repelling air bump, but French manufacturer has apparently opted to increase the number of plastic surfaces on its future models.

The 2018 Citroen C5 Aircross was described to have a purified and graphic cabin. It also has a screen-based interface, head-up display, and a unique-shaped steering wheel. The C5 Aircross has two version of a turbocharged 1.6-liter petrol engine offering 135kW or 170kW and two 2.0-liter turbo diesel variants offering either 100kW or 135kW.

The 2018 Citroen Aircross will be marketed in Chine beginning late summer. Some say that it will also be produced in Europe at the factory that PSA has in Rennes. However, the arrival of the new 2018 Citroen Aircross will take place in the autumn of 2019.
