Cars With The Lowest and The Most Expensive Maintenance Cost; Toyota and Volkswagen On the List

Forbes made a list of cars with lowest and expensive maintenance cost using the Repair Pal. This website came up with their Repair Cost Index that formulates the projected car maintenance expenditures. This will guide car buyers in selecting their vehicles.

Sadly for some first-time car buyers, the last thing they consider in choosing a car is the maintenance cost.  Car buyers need to think the after sales expenditures also. Maintaining your car to stand the rigors of time is not cheap. The repairs you need to do in a given period adds to that cost.  Check out the list of cheapest and most expensive cars to maintain

The 2017 Toyota Corolla is one of the cars with the cheapest maintenance cost in the small car division. The Repair Pal result shows that its maintenance cost ranges from $307.00 to $375.00 per year.  These includes change oil, brake pads, starter, and shocks maintenance among others. The engine is a 137 HP, 1.8 Liter, 4 cylinders. It has a good fuel efficiency at 8.5 liters for every 100 km of travel.

The Honda Accord has the cheapest maintenance cost among sedans. Annual expenditure is around $351.00/year. This hybrid has a 2.4 liter, 4 cylinder engine. It could be linked to a 6-speed manual gearbox or a CVT automatic gear shift transmission. Owning to its motors, fuel efficiency is maximized when driving. 

Among small cars, the Volkswagen Golf GTI is one of the costliest when it comes to maintenance cost.  Annual cost is around $760/year.  Car Magazine reports that under the hood is a 227 BHP, 2.0 Liter engine. You can have a choice to mate the engine with a 6-speed manual or a DSG twin-clutch automatic transmission.  It can accelerate from 0-62 mph in 6.2 seconds.

The Mercedes-Benz C300 is the costliest in the sedan category. Annual maintenance coast could run to almost $1100.00/year. TFL Car informed us this 2 door sedan has a 241 HP, 2.0 LITER, 4 cylinder engine as its main power plant. Transmission is a 7-speed automatic gearbox that spins all 4 wheels. It can accelerate from  0-60 mph in 7.76  seconds.
