Stealthy Honda S2000, Roadster Will Debut In Fall

The Honda S2000 is a Japanese roadster comes with a mid-mounted turbocharged 660-cc inline-three powerful engine. The sports car has a two-door roadster convertible with FMR layout, which according to designer Daisuke Sawai, the roadster is named for its two liters engine displacements.

Honda debuted its original concept and design on the Japanese automaker's 50th anniversary way back in 1998. Honda is planning to unveils its Honda S2000 revamped model to commemorate its 70th anniversary in 2018. The launching will debut along with an RC213V-S superbike.

The upcoming S2000 depicts an overly competitive performance in engaging driving experience. The roadster is allegedly utilizing Civic Type R engine. The engine will be equipped with a 2.0-liter turbo with a new powertrain and a unique chassis, as per Car And Driver reported.

The next-generation of S2000 will employ a two-stage electric boosting system, similar to Mitsubishi technology. The system may consist of an electrically driven supercharger, bypass valve, and a conventional turbocharger. The S2000 engine aims to achieve better fuel efficiency than its predecessor's popular twin-turbos.

The sports car throttle response is allegedly sharper than current S2000 turbos. These elements offer an excellent electric engine system with compact and lightweight package making 320 horsepower with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transaxle that helps in utilizing weight distribution.

The previous units of Honda S2000 achieved as "the world's top level, high-performance four-cylinder naturally aspirated engine," which Honda explained that the next-generation of these series would feature a Torsen limited slip differential for better engine and fuel economy.

The sportscar measures 94.5 inches wheelbase, length is 162.2 inches, 68.9 inches in width and 50.6 inches in height. The Honda roadster will be accessible in different color variants, Sebring Silver, Silverstone Metallic, Berlina Black, Gran Prix White, and the New Formula Red.

Honda unveils that the upcoming next-generation of S2000 will be in the fall of 2018. Many car lovers speculated that either it would debut at the Paris Auto Show in September, or in November at the Los Angeles Motor Show. The Honda S2000 prices are expected to roughly near $50,000.
