Subaru announced the recall of almost 26,000 units of its 2017 Subaru Impreza because of rear camera problems. Units recalled were manufactured between Sept. 12 and Feb. 23, 2017

Although the problem is not mechanical in nature and would not pose any serious hazard on the road, Subaru decided to immediately fix the problem.

When the company received complaints about rear cameras were not working properly, the company collected the failed parts and have them analyzed. The rear cameras are reportedly going blank, turning hazy or constantly freezing when the automobile are being put in reverse.

Harman, Subaru's partner on the failed infotainment part reported that a bug or a glitch in the initial set-up is causing the problem. Car Complaints reported that the Subaru Impreza recall will start on March 20, 2017. The problem will be easy to fix.

Dealers were informed that they just need to update the software and would fix the problem instantly. It would take just an hour or 2 for the entire procedure to eliminate the problem. Car buyers were informed via registered mail about the planned recall.

The 2017 Subaru Impreza is the newest model in its Impreza generation. Car Advice on its recent review reveals that the 2017 model was a great improvement of its older brothers. As its main source of power, it was fitted with an 115 kW, 2.0-liter engine.

This all-wheel drive vehicle is a joy to drive especially in an urban environment. Fuel economy is reported to be 6.6 liters for every 100 km of travel. However actual test generated results of a measly 8.2 liter for every 100 km.

On the safety department, the 2017 Subaru Impreza has seven airbags for passenger protection in case of a crash. A cruise control that mirrors automobile speed in front of it, lane assist and pedestrian recognition are just some of the safety features included.
