Mass Effect Andromeda is the latest game developed by BioWare after the huge success of the original Mass Effect trilogy. The game is published by Electronic Arts and it will be available for Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4. The game is scheduled for release on March 21, 2017. This is the fourth entry in the Mass Effect series.

According to Digital Trends, Mass Effect Andromeda begins within the Milky Way Galaxy during the 22nd century, where the humanity is planning to populate new home worlds in the Andromeda Galaxy. The player has an option to start as Scott or Sara Ryder, an experienced military recruit who joins the initiative and wakes up in Andromeda after a 600-year journey. The appearances of the character can be customized by the player itself. Exploring the Andromeda Galaxy will be possible with the new ship called Tempest.

There will be seven new crew members that players can recruit. The player is able to explore entire planets, instead of just the small segments available in previous Mass Effect games. Over a dozen planets have hub worlds that connect the player to various quests that need to be completed. The player will need to search for materials, crafting items, and survival gear to keep the character standing in some of the galaxy’s harshest environments. Andromeda will have plenty of side missions which were a large part of the Mass Effect original series. Mass Effect Andromeda will also ditch the cover-based shooting. Instead, Ryder can move around the battlefield more freely to defeat the enemies.

According to PC Invasion, the new Andromeda Initiative is headed to a Golden World. The Tempest spaceship is on its way to the Helius Cluster, which appears to have seven Golden World candidates to look into. These resource-filled worlds might be humanity’s best chance at finding a new home. The Nexus requires Helium3, Water, Ice, and Element Zero to be able to run. That means that any potential colony world needs to be stacked with these resources. In Mass Effect Andromeda, more resources mean more upgrades, and more colonists being awakened from cryosleep. Take a look at the video below for a summary of the planetary candidates.
