The latest model, 2017 Peugeot 3008, has been recently declared by European motoring journalists as the "Car of the Year." What are the specifications of the vehicle that enticed these reviews?

Each year, the European motoring journalists would gather and cast their votes to declare which among the prevailing vehicles in the automobile market deserves the "Car of the Year" award. Amongst all the brand heavyweight models such as Citroen C3, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, the Alfa Romeo, Toyota C-HR, and the Volvo S90, the 2017 Peugeot 3008 reigned supreme, reported Auto Week.

The announcement was made after a deliberation on which between the Alfa Romeo and the model had better specifications and impressive sales. The scores showed a close call, but eventually, the 2017 Peugeot 3008 won the title. In fact, it garnered 319 points against the second placer which had 296 points. On the other hand, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class had 172 points, the Citroen C3 with 166 points, the Toyota C-HR with 165 points, and the Nissan Micra with 135 points.

In other news, Auto Car reported that the model was declared as the favorite since the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. Last year, however, the Vauxhall Astra claimed the crown who beat the Volkswagen Passat off. Apart from Autocar's Matt Prior who was one of the judges, the winner garnered the most points mainly due to its sleek design, and distinct character of being an SUV but installed with the ruggedness of other types of sturdy vehicles. Moreover, the vehicle was also installed with state-of-the-art technological upgrades that cannot be found in the other models considered for the title.

Last Mar. 6, 2017, the 2017 Peugeot 3008 was declared as the European "Car of the Year" by 58 journalists who found the vehicle to be unique, robust, luxurious, and technologically advanced. What do you think is another model that had a good shot at winning the title?
