The Mercedes-Benz W123 was a range of executive cars manufactured by German Mercedes-Benz between 1976 and 1985. The sedan was one of the best selling cars that sold out 2.7 million cars in 1985. It was mid-range car combining the latest engineering and excellent tested design features.

The Mercedes-Benz W123 came with larger bumpers, round sealed beam headlights and fog lamps, A-pillar ID tag and emission control devices. It was a four-door sedan and sleek coupe. It was equipped with 2.8-liter, inline 4-cylinder, and fuel injected engines capable of 142 horsepower, as noted by Hagerty.

According to Cars Guide, the mid-range sedan delivered a 10 L/100 km on the run with its sluggish engine. It was well-designed for traditional 'Benz look and stylish coupe a classic charmer with a smooth six-cylinder performance. It was also well-built for an excellent family-sized interior designed.

The sedan featured a modest 2.3-litre carburettor-fed single overhead camshaft four-cylinder engine, which could deliver an 80 kW and 186 Nm. It was a dark car and sluggish sedan with six-cylinder models of its camshaft. It featured a five-speed manual transmission and standardized power steering.

The Mercedes-Benz W123 introduced innovations including ABS and a retractable steering column and an airbag for the driver. It also highlighted the assisted disc brakes and vacuum powered central locking. The sedan also made up of Texturized Punctured Vinyl for its upholstery, which also well-designed with its velour leather seats and interior wood trim concept.

The vintage mid-range car came with a standard T passenger side exterior mirror, windows with rear-seat switch cut-outs, rear-facing extra seats, and vacuum powered central locking. It also featured Standheizung, which was pre-start timer-controlled engine heating.

The Mercedes-Benz W123 gained popularity with its self-locking differential sunroof, excellent air conditioning, and well-engineered climate control. It also came with "Alpine" horn, which was a selectable quieter horn. It had a Tempomat that helped in the cruise control.
