Porshe 911 R Is The Million Dollar Gem Of Luxury SUVs

The Porsche 911 R is currently one of the rarest and most desirable from the Porsche lineup and this apparently increases the price tag to almost a million dollar. From the original asking price of $185,000, dealers are now cashing in on the demand for the rare model not only in the US but also in other parts of the world.

The coveted sports car boasts an array of specs that would make anyone drool over it. The Porsche 911 R packs 500 hp and goes 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds. With 20-inch GT3 wheels that can roll on the roads at a top speed of 200 mph, Porsche trademark suspension management, and torque vectoring, the MSRP of $185,000 should be justified.

Only 911 units were made at its first released so people who did not make the cut rely on dealerships expecting additional costs. This created hefty price tags for second-hand Porsche 911 R units which reflected the demand created by the limited units manufactured.

To illustrate, at the end of 2016, a Porsche 911 R is put on the market for $700,000 in California. Car Scoops reported that the six-figure cost is already a low rate compared to the amount that even went up to a million dollars after the last one has been sold directly from the manufacturers. This alone is a dramatic increase in pricing, considering that the car is being sold as second-hand.

Furthermore, Wheels magazine wrote about a unit recently made available in Australia that is tagged at almost 1.2 million AUD (est. 923,000 USD). This officially became pricier than any new vehicle ever sold in Australia. Granted that the odometer reads less than 100 km, the price makes anyone gasp in disbelief.

Apart from car enthusiasts and collectors, the price fluctuations of limited edition cars like the Porsche 911 R elicit hyperbolic comments from consumers because of the exorbitant raises. Yes, the limited edition Porsche might be a pure perfection of its kind. Even with the price range,  it has never meant that nobody would be bothering shedding dollars for the sheer love of Porsche.
