Surface Pro 4: Currently The Most Popular Surface Device Despite Availability Of The Surface Book

The popularity of the Surface Pro 4 tablet seems to be only getting stronger and stronger. This is apparently the case despite it having poor battery life, the anticipated release of the Pro 5, and the option to go for a Surface Book.

Surface Pro 4 remains a popular tablet. The Pro 4 is considered to be one of the best performance tablets in the 2-in-1 market. It can handle high-performance tasks with ease. Unfortunately, the Pro 4 suffers from a very poor battery life. For a device with high-performance specs, a 4-hour battery life just from regular browsing is quite disappointing.

However, this fact doesn't seem to impede its popularity among users. According to the latest Windows Devices Statistics Report by AdDuplex, the Pro 4 holds the highest percentage of users at 40.4 percent making it the most popular among users of Surface devices. The second is its predecessor, Surface Pro 3, at 26.7 percent. The third most popular Surface device is the Surface 3 with 14.2 percent.

Looking at other devices, it is quite surprising to see that there are more people using the first Surface Pro than the Surface Pro 2. The Surface Pro holds 7.3 percent while the Surface Pro 2 only has 4.9 percent.

The higher-performance Surface Book only holds 6.3 percent. That percentage may not budge as it is most likely that current Surface Pro 4 users are waiting for the Pro 5's release.

It is understandable to see the Surface Studio only have 0.1 percent given its high price and target market. All that power just does not justify regular everyday use.

It is speculated that the Surface Pro 5 will be released along with the final build of the Windows 10 Creators Update this spring. This, however, should be taken with a grain of salt as the Microsoft has not revealed anything concrete on it yet.

In other news, Amazon put the Surface Pro 3 on sale for a day last February 21, 2017. The i5 Surface Pro 3 model, for example, was discounted for a whopping $170.00.
