Rumors of an all-new 2015 Ford Mustang have been making their way around the Internet, with the most recent claim that the vehicle will be "one for the history books" according to MustangsDaily.

The site reports that an inside source was able to confirm recently that Ford will change the platform name and will call their new Mustang the S550 instead of the S197 used for the fifth generation model.

The 2015 model will reportedly undergo more changes than any Mustang previously released.

The next Ford model will be launched world-wide, and the company will be going after a whole new demographic. Understanding this, Ford is set to design a completely new designation, which many websites like TorqueNews.com feel is required for the new Mustang.

If the company does in fact go through with a designation change, it would be only the fifth time in Ford history according to their website.

Experts feel that the 2015 Mustang will look completely different compared to the current "retro" looking model, and many believe the new vehicle could look more like the Ford Evos Concept that premiered in 2011.

Ford confirmed over the summer that the newest Mustang would be a two-door coupe, but has confirmed barely anything besides that.

Ford's Chief Creative Officer J Mays did say last year that the design will in fact be less retro and move the brand forward according MustangsDaily. Other rumors about the vehicle include that the overhangs and the wheelbase could be shorter when the new vehicle is released.

Ford will not only be focusing on making their U.S. fans happy, but they'll also be promoting heavily in Europe as the company wants to improve sales numbers overseas. Ford has made strides as of late in Europe thanks to the addition of the new Ford Fiesta, as the compact car is the best-selling vehicle in Europe according to a company press release.

Ford launched the 2013 Mustang in spring of 2012.
